If marriages are made in heaven, why do they break on earth?

The tradition of arranged marriages still widely prevails in modern India and surprisingly its success rate is higher than love marriages. In a typical arranged marriage system it's the family who decides on a match after subsequent meetings and tallying horoscopes of the couple in question. In arranged marriages it's all about acceptance, whereas in case of love marriages, expectations never end.

When a couple is courting each other, they usually look their best and do their best to impress each other. "However, the equation changes once they get married. You can't obviously be at your best 24 hours a day! This sometimes hits hard to some couples and thus the rows begin," she reasons. But then it's not that arranged marriages do not break. One of the most alarming facts about the 21st century is that marriages are breaking every now and then. Let's look at six common reasons behind a marriage failure:

1. Money VS Honey: Believe it or faint, money rules our life. After the initial bubblegum of romance bursts, couples seem to always argue over the buck. Too little or over pouring, money still remains an issue. How, whom, when and where to spend is a matter of conflict.

2. Kid's quota: Contrary to the adage that a child brings a couple closer, it can actually do the opposite in some cases. A lot of couples fall into the trap of focusing too much on the upbringing of their children. They devote all their energy and time left after work in carving the right career and direction of their children's lives. In the process, they gradually distance from each other and the gap becomes in filling till the time they realise.

3. Communication gap: If conversation has lessened between couples, take it as a warning bell. If you are fighting over the same issue over and over again, you may tend to tire of each other. Remember that there's difference between listening and understanding. Do not sympathise but learn to empathise.

4. Intellectual and sexual incompatibility: If you tend to ignore these incompatibilities in the beginning, your relationship will gradually erode for sure. Deal with them at the right time and help your partner to overcome such weaknesses. Love, support and encouragement can do wonders.

5. In-laws: This factor plays a key role in the Indian society. Too much interference of in-laws and their tendency to rule their children's lives can be detrimental to a couple's relationship.

6. Time factor: you give time to what is valuable to you and if does not involve your spouse, there definitely lies a problem.

However, marriage system should be encouraged, strengthened and supported feels Marriage is a selfless act of giving oneself to someone else and becoming one. It gives a stability which dozens of relationships together cannot match."
